This isn’t exactly about an antenna I have, or not even one I have made, I don’t even know if it would be considered unique to you, but it’s considered unique to me because of the high quality and length of time. This antenna I am talking about is actually an antenna that a friend of mine has.It is the Sommer vertical model TCS-25.
I watched my friend assemble this antenna when he first got it and it only took about forty five minutes, which is perfect timing for assembling an antenna. I mean, we’re talking - in forty five minutes, that antenna was standing in the air ready to be put to work! Which, it sure was put to work and proved to us that it was worth every penny.
Once the Sommer was standing tall, it tuned astonishingly. The Sommer antenna actually tuned with very low SWR on all bands – 80, 40, 30, 20 and 17 meters along with ten meters. This antenna seems to me like it is a good product and would serve any ham radio operator perfectly, whether it is for Field Day, special trips or a base antenna. I am about to take a trip and my friend won’t let me borrow his TCS-25, which I can understand, so I will just have to purchase one for myself.
Thanks for listening, or...reading my comment, Melanie (kg4bah)
